We research strategies, test them using historical data, put selected strategies through live-market incubation, and continuously monitor their performance.
Our philosophy is simple: A great backtest is a starting point — not proof.
Incubation strategies have already passed Nhuga's internal research and backtesting standards.
They are then placed into live-market incubation to determine whether their historical performance and risk characteristics hold up under real market conditions.
Incubation is the proving stage.
A Verified Strategy has successfully completed Nhuga's live incubation requirements and demonstrated that its performance, risk, and trading behavior meet our predefined standards.
Verification requires more than a strong backtest — the strategy must prove itself in live markets. See our full verification methodology for all 16 criteria.
An Elite Strategy has shown strong historical performance through the applicable backtest, live incubation, and sustained live-performance requirements.
A strategy can become Elite directly from Incubation if it meets the Elite benchmark criteria, or it can progress from Verified after demonstrating sustained strong performance. See our full methodology for all 14 Elite criteria.
Yes. Strategy status is not permanent.
If a strategy's performance or risk characteristics deteriorate beyond the applicable requirements, it can be demoted or retired.
A strategy that fails during its initial incubation does not simply get recycled back into incubation.
Funded Ready is a separate classification designed for funded traders. It evaluates characteristics such as:
- Daily and overall drawdown
- Single-trade risk
- Consecutive losses
- Losing days
- Recovery periods
- Trading frequency
- Holding periods
- Overnight/weekend exposure
- News exposure
Funded Ready evaluates the strategy's risk and trading characteristics, not its Elite or Verified status.
No. Elite and Funded Ready measure different things.
Elite = strong historical strategy performance and evidence.
Funded Ready = suitability characteristics for funded-account style risk constraints.
An Elite strategy may not be suitable for every funded account.
No. Every funded trading provider has its own rules and restrictions.
Nhuga's Funded Ready classification does not guarantee that a strategy will pass a particular funded challenge or comply with a particular firm's rules.
